In this work, Gökalp Koca takes us on a journey that aims to explain the scream and rebirth of the traditional within the modern, but that it does not disappear but changes its sound and that we always carry it within us as a gem. For this reason, he leaves you with a reinterpreted and composed version inspired by Vakıf Mustafazade's Bayatı Shiraz. The notes are not exactly the same, the tones are not the same, but for those who know the song, this is an experience where they will never feel or listen to the same song. Bayati Shiraz is a mode in Azerbaijani Mugham, a branch of Azerbaijani Traditional Music, and in this mode two 5th chords are brought together. It occurs in tones of 1-1-0.5 and this creates melancholy for the listener. In fact, Vakıf Mustafazade's composition consists of a combination of this mode and is essentially an anonymous work. Even though this is equivalent to the makam in Turkish Art Music and is even etymologically derived from the word makam, Muğumat music has become different over time because it is played with different makams and instruments.
